One of the most striking interior items at the Milan furniture fair ISaloni 2019 was the Cristallo cupboard produced by Spanish design brand BD Barcelona Design factory.
Which designer could best express the essence of an object, its image, and its function by the stroke of a form? Maestro of Italian design Alessandro Mendini. Designed by Alessandro Mendini cupboard Cristallo is a ideal example of realized object’s essence in another object.
This is the sign’s painting and the sign’s form of the poetic object – a crystal glass. The buffet is included in the Art Editions collection and is produced by the BD Barcelona Design.
The Cristallo cupboard is veneered inside in sycamore, and outside, too, the fronts are painted in different colors, according to the concept. Partially colored parts of the surface are glossy lacquered, and partially satined.
