The Obu collection of mirrors, produced by the Belgian company Deknudt Mirrors, is distinguished by exquisite beauty and innovative design. Designed by the Dutch studio Beaverhausen, Obu mirrors’ collection reflects the abstract essence of the Japanese garden in its laconic aesthetics and a lyrical concept of worldview. Initially, the collection was demonstrated at the Parisian interior fair Maison & Objet 2021 in September 2021.
The mirrored part symbolizes the rock, and the transparent part represents the water blending two critical elements of a traditional Japanese garden. The silhouette of the rock is emphasized, while the transparent colorless glass is almost invisible but essential. Therefore, its presence is accentuated by two golden lines above and below.
The mirror can be hung or leaned against the wall. In the second case, a special protective anti-slip strip prevents the slanted mirror from sliding down.
