The environmental component was a focal point of this year's event. Both at the level of organizing and holding the fair and at the level of developed solutions, the environmental aspects of modern design took the central part at many significant presentations such as the "Design with Nature" exposition, at the SaloneSatellite and the stands of a large number of independent designers.

Many visitors also visited the Royal Palace, where the Milan Furniture Salon presented the production "Scatola Magica" ("The Magic Box"), which ran there until June 17, 2022. This show was a multimodal presentation about emotions, quality, innovation, creativity, but above all, about the beauty of the Milan Furniture Salon.

Another direction of the exhibition was to emphasize the international significance of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and the city of Milan in design tourism. The Progetto Accoglienza (Hospitality Project) project, a result of cooperation between the Municipality of Milan, the Fiera Foundation, and the leading design schools of the city - New Academy, IED - European Institute of Design, and the School of Design at the Politecnico di Milano focused on these aspects of the event.

One hundred students at significant points in the city provided thousands of visitors with information about the city's transport, the exhibition, the accompanying events taking place in the town, and the main events in Milan. According to the survey results, the preferable way of transportation by visitors was "green" transportation solutions at the exhibition, such as trains and subways.
