The first collection of outdoor furniture Moon Mission, which will perfectly suitable for the Moon, is made by 3D-printing and created by Studio Nucleo. It is devoted to the 50th birthday of one of the most famous Italian design brands – Driade, and the 50th anniversary of the landing on the Moon. Of course, those furniture pieces are unique art objects, shown during famous ISaloni 2018 fair in Milan.
Studio Nucleo designers Nucleo Piergiorgio Robino (Piergiorgio Robino) and Marcia Ricci (Marzia Ricci) came up with a sophisticated design, in which the figured holes remind of the ones made by wind and water in the rocks on the Earth and on the Moon.
Designers took three of Driade bestsellers – Toy chair designed by Philippe Starck (Philippe Starck), the table-pouf Koishi by Naoto Fukasawa (Naoto Fukasawa), table Cuginetto by Enzo Mari (Enzo Mari) and using 3D printing has made these furniture pieces with a variety of aesthetic holes.
Outdoor furniture collection Moon Mission is made of synthetic resin and regolith (residual soil, which is a product of weathering rock).
Curator of the project was Gianluigi Ricuperati (Gianluigi Ricuperati), the collection was made in IPW Institute of production of Wonder under the direction of Barbara De Micheli.
