From 8 to 20 February 2021, in Moscow, in the art gallery on street 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya building 20, an exhibition of paintings by the contemporary Russian artist Mikhail Markovich Babenkov is taking place. Mikhail Babenkov has been tirelessly, for over 50 years, exploring the display of light in a variety of colours mixtures.
Each of his paintings is an inner glow of color, a flicker of reality, obvious and recognizable and at the same time illusory and abstract.
The exhibition presents more than 70 paintings - works of the last 10 years, the results of the artist's most interesting research in the field of displaying light in colours. It is also interesting to see how Mikhail Babenkov solves this problem in pen drawings and drawings performed in mixed media.
